What is this?
It's an image convertor that takes a picture of any size
and automatically resizes it to 32x32 and adjusts the colors so you can see how it looks as a Mario Kart Decal.

Mario Kart decals?
Mario Kart DS has a neat feature that allows you to make a little icon next to your name that
shows up when you're playing online.

Usage

How do I use it?
Click the browse button and look for a cool image on your filesystem. When you found one you
can click on 'Make it a decal!' and the script will show you how that image will look as a Mario Kart Decal

It gives an error that the imagetype is not supported?
You have to feed it images silly, it will only accept files that end with .jpg, .gif or .png
Offcourse these files need to be valid images.

The image became unrecognisable!
Some images will work better than others, try to avoid images
that have lots of details or don't have much saturation.
Convert it manually in photoshop for the best results.

I've made a cool decal! now what?
Contrary to popular belief you can't upload the image right to your ds. The image is only a template
which you can use as a guide or to show it off on the internet. Prepare for the tedious task of copying
every pixel yourself from the template to the decal designer

I tried to show it to the internet but they can't see it!
Hotlinking the image won't work,
you actually have to copy it into an imageprogram and then save it to your computer.
If you want to show it to the internet you have to host it yourself or put it up on imageshack.

What's the difference between closest color and closest hue?
Their both different ways in determining what color is closest to a color in the palette
Closest color looks for the nearest red green and blue value
While closest hue looks for the nearest hue, white and blackness value.
Try them both to see what gives the best results

Technical

What evil sorcery is behind this?
It's a relatively simple php script that makes use of the GD image functions, see the source
to figure out how it works exactly.

The source doesn't work
Make sure that this and this file are in the same directory as the script
if it still doesn't work your php server doesn't support imagefunctions.

Is this really copyrighted?
No, offcourse not. It just makes it look, you know... professional! In fact, you can copy and modify
the source all you want.
